NOTES COMMUNITY MEETING
08-03-2023
2nd Floor
Attendees: Marcel, Jeffrey, Koen, Gwen, Christos, Joep, Ilja, Jacco, Kees, Jana, Leon, Olivier, Annebel
Agenda
19:00 Start Meeting
Everyone attending read the agenda and agreed on it.
Kees presented his ideas for the interior design of the floors. MOTF will merge/mix more with WARP as a breeding ground. A task force will be created that can focus on the interior design of this space.
Floris Kaayk space will be emptied. It will be a public working space during the day and a ‘chill space’ at night. The space will also be used for daytime activities like workshops and other community activities. During the evening it can be a more artsy/spacy vibe. A task force will be created that can focus on the interior design of this space. The task force might be able to also include the Modsy Flexworking space in their plans.
MOTF will use the floor partly for the MOTF only. The other part will be a collaborative space between MOTF + WARP and XP with a gaming area, enough space for game nights (XP and other events), game consoles, VR headsets (MOTF), and possibly a number of flex work areas (WARP).
In the collab space, PLANETART will hang beamers to use for MOTF but XP and WARP can use them when they need to during their own events.
PLANETART brings the game consoles from SPACEBAR Gameroom to the 2nd-floor Solarium corner. There will be retro and new consoles and game computers.
A conversation between MOTF, WARP, and Mber office renters will be held to make sure their needs are met.
Koen: An idea is to integrate some art (rockets) and games from the original Floris Kaayk exhibition in the 2nd-floor Gaming area
To involve everyone in how the 2nd-floor collaborative space will actually look, there will be a meeting held at the beginning of next week.
Fakebar Taskforce: The Fakebar task force has shown proper communication, planning, and financial management. They rebuild the entire bar and booth but they will first just be a skeleton structure, without design choices. (Fakebar Taskforce: Design Meeting.. Thu. 16th, 19:00 @Fakebar).
Other Taskforces: The Diversity and Identity task forces did not launch due to the people who wanted to take initiative being too occupied in February.
If you have ideas of things you want to do in WARP or would like to see happening, go to Community Management. If you have ideas, they can guide you or connect you with the right people if needed.
People taking a lot of initiative for spaces who can help you with ideas aren’t people who can solely decide what can and can not happen in WARP.
If you have trouble reaching out to some, try reaching out to Community Management first. Decisions about what can or can’t happen in WARP are based on whether ideas fit with us and suit our values. If you ever feel like you couldn’t get an idea of the ground, come talk to community management :)
Christos: Text Christos anytime if you have creative ideas for the 360LAB or would like to use it for experimentation or your projects. He’d love to help you out and set you up! :)
Go to the www.warptechnopolis.nl website, create an account, and check it out. All documents and calendars will be in one place, and public content will be separated from community and private renters' content. This is not finished yet, but make sure to take a look already!
Trash has been going well, with just a few people who never signed up yet. The paper signup sheet in the kitchen will stay, and the online sheet will disappear.
Gwen: Idea: Host another big WARP cleanup
Koen: Invite volunteers and then host a party to celebrate with them once done. The deadline for this is before the 1st of April. Koen will make a plan.
Annebel: Construction will start on the parking garage behind our building in April. Will get back with information tomorrow on how this may affect us.
14-03 Stanza gone (stored boxes on 2nd floor) + toilets will be cleaned
17-03 RIOT (Party Spacebar / Fakebar till ~07:00)
01-04 Opening MOTF
01-04 Booster Festival in Spacebar (after in Fakebar 01:00 - 07:00)
11. Focus of this month
The focus of this month is on building up the spaces mentioned earlier and daytime events. Annebel is back up and running this month. She will hop by your offices to have a short talk and also note your needs and ideas and based on that organize more daytime events.
Leon: Idea: Host a TableTennisTechno Party in Fakebar. (Joep says WARP can have Joep’s PingPong Table!)
Gwen: New mirror in the bathrooms 1st floor
Olivier: Move the meetings to 20:00 so we can have dinner beforehand
Marcel: Any updates on creating a WARP foundation
(Short answer: not yet, but we didn’t forget about it!)
Joep: Until when can we stay here?
Jeffrey: At least until 01-01-2024. Might be longer but no promises are made.
(!!! - Jeffrey) To increase our chances to get a new place or stay here, we have to behave; stay legal and within bounds. Illegal activities or a bad image might ruin our chances so watch out for drug use, illegal parties, etc.
Joep: How about nighttime permits?
Jeffrey: Getting longer opening hours for Spacebar is in progress thanks to Koen and Dion. This has to do with permits. Reminder: “Longer opening hours” only count for Spacebar. Spacebar doesn’t include the 360LAB
